Kagurazaka

There were various opinions about origin of slope name, and origin of slope has become already unclear in the middle of Edo era. Because there was kagura hall of Akagi Myojin more because mikoshi portable shrine played noh dance at festival of city valley Yahata here or to hear noh dance of Wakamiya Yahata to slope, nadosamazama.

In 1895, neighborhood of slope develops triggered by establishment of kobutetsudoushikomi*shajo rapidly as mall and residential area. It became downtown of the Ushigome ward first late in the Meiji era. We ran early in the Showa era from the Taisho era and were called bustle, "hilly section Ginza" as the amusement center of new Tokyo. Fair of the Zenkokuji Temple god of treasure gained in particular popularity. Writers of inkstone friend company and Waseda group gathered and were active place, and Kagurazaka was town of student and others of Waseda University in those days.
