The Cherry Blossoms of Shinjuku Gyoen (Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden)It has been famous for cherry tree since the time of “Shinjuku Imperial Botanical Garden”.Therefore,when the Imperial Botanical Garden was renovated to Imperial Garden in 1906,planting cherry tree continued to be the main thing.

Furthermore,after the venue of Imperial Cherry-Viewing Party was moved to Shinjuku Gyoen, about cherry tree Shinjuku Gyoen focused on research,study and collecting. Then the basis for today’s cherry trees was created. At present there are about 65 kinds,approximately 1,100 cherry trees.
