Hozenji (Hozen temple)

At temple of Nichiren sect, "spring time mountain Hozenji (Hozen temple)" means the official name. We worship the one of 7, Yamanote, Shinjuku gods of wealth "God of Longevity", and richly colored "seven light images of a deity" having good state of preservation (ward designated tangible cultural property) is enshrined into the main hall of a Buddhist temple.

Shicimenmeishin is the goddess living in Mt. Shichimen in Yamanashi prefecture. It is the local diety of Kuon temple, the head temple of Nichiren Buddhism. "Statue of Shicimenmeishin" wears Chinese style costume and crown with its left hand holding flame wish fullfilling stone and right hand holding a key. The key means that it saves people by enlightening them by true teachings of Buddha. The stone is the gift to Buddaha that promises us the attainment of nirvana (a state of enlightment). We are introduced with product of chuseiinnichimamorijojin, and we are moved in the Manji year (1658-61) by Suruga country, and it is done with seven Myojin worshiped first in Edo.
