Bronze Statue of Shigenobu OkumaIt is bronze statue of Shigenobu Okuma who is founder of Waseda University. With statue of 298 centimeters in height, it is gown look as scholar. On October 17, 1932, the 50th anniversary of the foundation of university memorial festival and ten times of mourning of Okuma were made before. Producer is sculptor, Fumio Asakura. Thing that Asakura produced bronze statue of Okuma three times of convenience, but this is the second time. In the center of the campus, it becomes symbol of the school. Okuma was born as child of gunnery instructor of Nabeshima, Saga feudal clan on (1838) February 16 in shop 1838.
